This tasty offering is the perfect mid-week indulgence for foodies looking to savour exceptional cuisine in the heart of York. Available Monday through Thursday from 12 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 6:30 PM, as well as Fridays from 12 PM to 3 PM, our Market Menu presents an irresistible opportunity to experience the finest seasonal ingredients sourced from Yorkshire’s bountiful natural larder.
Whether you’re in the mood for a leisurely lunch, a pre-theatre bite, or just a midweek pick-me-up, our Market Menu has something to delight every palate. Join us and enjoy a wallet-friendly two courses for just £28 or three courses for £33, all accompanied by a glass of fizz on arrival!

Options could include our divine Whipped Chicken Liver Parfait, a velvety smooth indulgence perfectly complemented by the sweet tanginess of caramelised onion jam. For those who prefer a touch of spice, the South Indian Spiced Fishcake is a revelation. Nestled on a bed of wilted greens and crowned with a soft poached hen’s egg, this starter is elevated by the addition of curried brown shrimp butter. Vegetarian patrons are not overlooked either and we highly recommend trying our Roasted Swede & Carrot Velouté. The earthy sweetness of the vegetables is beautifully balanced by the tangy cream, while the crispy onions add a delightful textural contrast.

Our main courses showcase the diversity of Yorkshire’s produce and our chefs’ culinary expertise. The Brew York Beer Battered Fish Fritter is a sophisticated take on a British classic. For a vegetarian option that doesn’t compromise on flavour, our Roasted Courgettes with Heckfield Cheese Custard & Onion Tart is a true standout. The creamy cheese custard provides a luxurious base for the sweet roasted courgettes, while the salt ‘n’ pepper seasoning adds a flavourful kick. Finally, meat lovers will relish our Outdoor Reared Pork & Wild Game Meatballs. These succulent meatballs are nestled in a rich, roasted vine tomato sauce and served atop tarragon-buttered tagliatelle. For those who prefer a savoury end to their meal, our Shepherd’s Purse Blue Cheese is served with traditional Yorkshire Brack and a house-made relish. Alternatively, for chocolate lovers our 64% Valrhona Chocolate Brownie is an indulgent treat not to be missed.
