Rise & Dine – Spoil Dad with Breakfast Delights

Kickstart your Father’s Day festivities by enjoying a sumptuous breakfast, served between 9am-11am (last orders).

Begin your breakfast feast with our tempting brekkie starters which include a fresh Baker’s Basket of toast, home-baked croissants, whipped butter, and divine seasonal preserves. Alternatively, opt for something nutritious and equally delicious, such as our tasty Chia Seed Bircher Muesli with a generous helping of golden raisins and pistachio.

After enjoying your breakfast starters, it’s time to move on to the main event and we promise that our signature breakfast dishes cater to a variety of tastes and preferences. Our Full Yorkshire Breakfast is legendary, widely regarded as one of the best breakfast dishes in York. This hearty and satisfying plate features award-winning sausage, smoked back bacon, our own spiced black pudding, field mushrooms, grilled tomato, fried bread, and a brace of eggs cooked to your liking. For those who prefer a vegetarian option, the Full Veggie Breakfast offers all the essentials of the Full Yorkshire but without the meat.

Another highlight of our breakfast menu is our perfectly seasoned Eggs Benedict or Eggs Royale. You can choose between smoked back bacon or smoked salmon, both served with poached eggs on a toasted English muffin. This classic dish is finished with a rich and creamy hollandaise sauce and a short stack farm herb ‘salad’.

For a unique twist on traditional breakfast fare, we encourage you to try our Chorizo Beans. This dish features Lishman’s of Ilkley chorizo baked beans, combined with sweet ‘n’ sour peppers, a fried hen egg, and a duck fat hash brown. The smoky and slightly spicy chorizo pairs beautifully with the beans and peppers, while the fried hen egg and crispy duck fat hash brown add richness and texture, making this dish a flavourful and satisfying choice.

To complement your breakfast feast, consider treating your dad to one of our tantalising brunch cocktails. A boozy Bloody Mary, with its perfect balance of spices and a hint of tomato, will hit the spot. Alternatively, a sparkling Bucks Fizz adds a touch of celebration to your morning meal.

Our Sunday Lunch has been voted as one of the best in the UK, so if you’d really like to pull out all the stops and treat your dad this upcoming Father’s Day, make sure you stop by between 12pm-4pm.

Our Sunday menu showcases the finest seasonal ingredients, skilfully prepared by our talented chefs. What’s more, if you book a table in advance, you can enjoy your Father’s Day Sunday Lunch al fresco on our beautiful outdoor terrace, overlooking the picturesque River Ouse.

To whet your appetite, our Sunday Lunch starters capture the essence of the season and are packed with vibrant ingredients. Sample starters you could be treated to include a tender Ham Hock & Fowl Terrine with Pease Pudding, Wholegrain Mustard and Pickled Quail Egg. Alternatively, veggies can sample an aromatic Garlic & Rosemary Baked Tunworth with Salted Cracked Hazelnuts, Onion Chutney and Sourdough.

When it comes to the main event, you simply can’t beat our signature Sunday Roast. Choose from a piece of succulent Roast Loin of Escrick Reared Pork, tender Roast Sirloin of Salt-Aged Beef, or a Rosemary Roasted Breast of Yorkshire Wolds Chicken. Whichever meat takes your fancy, it is served with all the trimmings – crispy duck fat roasties, buttered seasonal greens, carrot and swede mash with a horseradish kick, rich gravy made from the roasting juices, and of course, a gloriously crisp Yorkshire pudding.

If you’d prefer something other than the traditional Sunday roast, our menu also features plenty of other exquisite choices. For example, fish lovers could be treated to a sensational Pan Roasted Loin of North Sea Stonebass. This delicate fish is complemented by a confit Morteau sausage, madeira wild mushrooms, charred hispi cabbage and a velvety truffle dressing.

Finally, no Sunday lunch would be complete without a delicious dessert to finish. Say ‘thank you’ to dad by treating him to dreamy pudding which could include a stunning Autumn Berry & Elderflower Crumble, served warm with a dollop of velvety custard ice cream or a tantalising Lemon Cheesecake with velvety white chocolate mousse and toasted pistachios.
