Located right in the heart of York, on the edge of York’s Museum gardens, our charming riverside restaurant boasts three rooms, available for full and semi-exclusive hire, that are perfect for weddings, business lunches and parties.
All our private dining rooms are elegantly- decorated and comfortably arranged, whilst guests can enjoy easy bar access and free Wi-Fi.
Group Dining York
Whether you’re looking to arrange a seated dinner, or drinks reception, our friendly and dedicated team are on hand to help with all your requirements. Our private dining rooms in York can be booked for any party of 10 or more, up maximum of 36 people.
Our three group dining rooms in York are:
The Garden Room
For smaller group events, including intimate birthdays, hire the largest table in our main dining room, which can accommodate up to 12 people with non-exclusive use. Drink and dine in a sociable space and experience gold standard hospitality.
River Room
Wow your guests by booking our stunning River Room, which overlooks the charming banks of the River Ouse. This elegant space can accommodate up to 14 guests on one round table or up to 26 on two tables with exclusive use. The river room is perfect for small wedding receptions or special occasions.
Please note that access to the River room requires guests to climb down two steps. Also be advised that a spend limit of £1200 (£1500 in December) will be applied to private parties of less than 14 guests.
Mezzanine Dining Room
If you’re looking for a beautiful private room for larger social gatherings or corporate events, then the Private Dining room is ideal.
Our upstairs mezzanine dining room that can be booked exclusively midweek (Sunday evenings through Friday), with a minimum spend of £1500 (£2000 in December). The space holds up to 36 guests seated comfortably on two long tables/four smaller tables or 20 people on one large table with exclusive use. Guests can enjoy drinks and some scrumptious food and a dedicated server will be on hand to ensure everyone has a fabulous time.
Please note that the Private Dining Room has no disabled access.
Food & Drink At The Star Inn The City York
Star Inn the city offers a modern brasserie-style dining experience. Inspired by the ingenuity of Andrew Pern of the Michelin starred Star Inn at Harome, our aim is to bring a ‘taste of the country to the city’ and we proudly serve a mixture of traditional dishes crafted from the finest, locally sourced ingredients. Please be advised that tables for 10+ people are reserved for a 3-hour time slot. Please note we do not offer private dining options on Saturdays and Sundays lunch time, as well as York Race
Days, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
