Our popular Market Menu is back by popular demand, and it’s the perfect excuse to get together with friends on a weekday this autumn. Available Monday to Thursday from 12pm- 3pm, you can enjoy two courses for a budget-friendly £28 or three courses for £33.
Our Market Menu is a seasonal celebration of the best local ingredients, and we’re excited to share some of our sample dishes with you. To start, you might enjoy our Whipped Chicken Liver Parfait, a rich and creamy delight served with a sweet and sticky Caramelised Onion Jam and toasted sourdough bread. Alternatively, our South Indian Spiced Fishcake is a firm favourite, with its delicate balance of flavours and textures, including wilted greens, curried brown shrimp butter, and a soft-poached hen’s egg.
For your main course, why not try our Brew York Beer Battered Fish Fritter, served with golden beef fat chips, crushed peas, and a tangy house tartare sauce? Or, if you’re in the mood for something heartier, our Outdoor Reared Pork & Wild Game Meatballs are a must-try, smothered in a rich roasted vine tomato sauce and served with tarragon buttered tagliatelle and shaved autumn truffle.
Finally, should you be tempted by a divine pud, our Market Menu offers plenty of delicious options. Our Yorkshire Sticky Parkin is a classic, served with a warm spiced syrup and caramelised pear ice cream, while our 64% Valrhona Chocolate Brownie is a chocolate lover’s dream, paired with a refreshing strawberry cheesecake ice cream.
Can’t make it for brunch? Fear not! Our Market Menu is also available from 5-6.30pm, making it an excellent choice for pre-theatre dining or an early dinner with friends before a night out in York.
Friday & Saturday Brunch: Our New A La Carte Menu
If you’re planning a brunch gathering on a Friday or Saturday, be sure to check out our brand-new A La Carte menu, which perfectly captures the flavours of autumn. Available all day, including brunch time, our signature menu is designed to warm the soul and tantalise your taste buds with a range of delicious dishes that showcase the best of the season’s produce.
Our talented chefs, led by Michelin-starred Andrew Pern, have outdone themselves, crafting a menu that perfectly captures the essence of autumn in every dish. To begin your brunch bite, expect starters that showcase the earthy flavours of the season. Think velvety root vegetable soups enriched with aromatic truffle, or delicate venison loin complemented by smoked almond and poached pears.
As we move into the main courses, the richness of game season takes the spotlight. Our chefs expertly prepare a variety of game meats, including succulent pheasant, pairing them with rich and creamy seasonal vegetables. For those who prefer fish, expect perfectly cooked seafood dishes that balance the richness of autumn with lighter, citrus-infused accompaniments.
Vegetarian diners are in for a treat with plant-based options that celebrate the season’s harvest. Expect innovative dishes featuring wild mushrooms, chestnuts, and hearty autumnal vegetables, all prepared with the same care and creativity as our meat and fish offerings.
No leisurely weekend brunch is complete without dessert, and our puddings are designed to warm the soul and satisfy even the sweetest tooth. Indulge in comforting classics with a twist, featuring seasonal fruits like apples and pears, or opt for decadent chocolate creations enhanced with notes of spice and berries.
To complement your dining experience, our sommelier has carefully curated a wine list that pairs perfectly with the autumnal flavours on your plate. From crisp whites to robust reds, each selection is chosen to enhance the seasonal ingredients and complex flavours of our dishes.
