We offer tasty light breakfast bites such as Almond & Vanilla Porridge with Boozy Prunes, Praline & Dark Chocolate or why not tuck into a Baker’s Basket brimming with a selection of Toast, Home-Baked-Croissants, Whipped Butter & tempting Seasonal Preserves?
Alternatively, and before you indulge in plenty of the chocolatey variety, opt for a scrumptious Eggs Benedict or Royale, served with your choice of Smoked Back Bacon or Smoked Salmon, as well as a freshly toasted English Breakfast Muffin.
If you’re in the mood for a more substantial morning feast, enjoy a mouth-watering American Style Pancake Stack or embrace the ‘Full Yorkshire’, our star-take on the Full English which comprises Award-Winning Sausages, Spiced Black Pudding and much more.

Just in time for Easter we’ve launched our incredible new All Day Menu which boasts a profusion of delectable springtime ingredients. If you’re joining us for lunch or dinner this Easter weekend, then you’re in for a real treat.
To start, we invite you to choose from fresh Pan Roast King Scallops served with Peppered Swede, Gamekeeper’s Haggis and Puffed Ancient Grains whilst we also serve starters such as a divine Yorkshire Estate Game Terrine accompanied by Spiced Date Ketchup, Yorkshire Rhubarb and Duck Fat Brioche.
Moving on to the mains, enjoy dishes inspired by God’s Own Country’s landscape, from coast to field and the forest floor. Try a sensational Roast Fillet of Hake, joined by vibrant Spring Vegetable, Shetland Mussel & ‘Big Apple’ Cider Chowder & Shoestring Potatoes. Alternatively, enjoy a sumptuous Roast Yorkshire Wolds Breast of Chicken with Sticky Lemon Thyme Thigh, Maple Celeriac and Wilted Brassicas.
If you can’t indulge your sweet tooth on Easter weekend, then when can you? Our dessert options, which are both decadent and delightful, include a dreamy Baked Vanilla Custard with Yorkshire Rhubarb Ripple Ice Cream and Ginger Parkin Pieces, as well as a taste-tingling Treacle Tart with Whipped Crème Fraiche and Blood Orange & Sorrel.

Next to chocolate eggs, Easter Sunday is all about family gatherings around delicious food. This year, we’re inviting you and the family to come to celebrate Easter Sunday in style as you enjoy a delectable Sunday Lunch in the plush surroundings of our riverside restaurant.
Our delicious Sunday Lunch is served between 12pm – 4pm and features fresh local produce, delicious meats, and amazing fish options.
Choose between a show-stopping roast main of Sirloin of Beef from Wilberfoss Farm or Loin of Woodland Reared Pork & A Little Homemade Sausage Roll, served with Duck Fat Roasties, Carrot & Swede ‘Stump’, Fountains Gold Cauliflower Cheese, Proper Gravy, Yorkshire Pudding and Leek Fondue.
Alternatively, enjoy a fish option of succulent Loin of North Sea Cod, accompanied by Shetland Mussels, Charred Hispi Cabbage, Crispy Onions, and Homemade Taramasalata.
Capping your Easter Sunday feast, treat yourself to a delicious pudding and a tasty tipple. Dessert options include a sumptuous Steamed Sticky Date Pudding with ‘Curd Tart’ Ice Cream and Muscovado Toffee Sauce.

The Star Inn The City York is a child-friendly restaurant and we warmly welcome little ones to join in the fun with us this Easter weekend.
Combing balanced, fresh ingredients with the exciting flavours of the Yorkshire countryside, our tasty Starlets’ menu is guaranteed to satisfy even the pickiest of pallets.
