If you plan to join us on your graduation day, we have two main private/group dining options to choose from:

Option 1: The River Room

Step into the elegant ambiance of the River Room, where up to 13 guests can enjoy a sophisticated gathering. With non-exclusive use, you’ll have the opportunity to share the space with other discerning diners, adding to the fun and conviviality of the occasion. Alternatively, for a more intimate affair, the River Room can accommodate from 14 to 24 guests exclusively, allowing you to celebrate with a bit more privacy.

Option 2: Private Dining Room

For slightly larger gatherings, our Private Dining Room is the perfect choice. With non-exclusive use, this gorgeous space can comfortably accommodate up to 15 guests, providing a stylish setting for your graduation meal. If you prefer a more exclusive experience, the room can accommodate from 16 guests up to a maximum of 36.

Whichever private dining option you choose, our helpful team will attend to every detail, leaving you to totally unwind. In terms of dining options, graduation parties can indulge in the tantalising flavours of our new Summer All Day Menu, which showcases the freshest fish and finest meat sourced from the idyllic Yorkshire countryside. From succulent seafood dishes to perfectly cooked cuts of steak, our culinary offerings will elevate your celebration to new heights.

Wedding Receptions

Our convenient location makes us a fantastic choice for your wedding reception, particularly if your ceremony is taking place in York city centre and you and your wedding party would like to stay close.

Ahead of your big day our team of wedding experts will work closely with you to tailor every detail, ensuring your wedding is a reflection of your unique love story. We’ll take care of table settings, help with the décor, and we promise to liaise with florists and other suppliers, making certain that everything goes off without a hitch.

As alluded to above we have two main private dining spaces that are perfectly suited to smaller wedding receptions: The River Room and The Private Dining Room, each of which can accommodate varying amounts of diners depending on your requirements.

On your wedding day at The Star Inn The City, culinary excellence takes centre stage. Our talented chefs weave their magic using the finest ingredients sourced from Yorkshire’s lush countryside, ensuring that each dish is a masterpiece of flavour and artistry. The Bride and Groom can choose three courses from our spectacular Summer All Day Menu, which includes tantalising starters, mouth-watering main courses and delectable desserts that are fit for the occasion.

Alternatively, we offer the option for wedding parties to dine on our popular Group Menu.

Finally, hopefully the sun shines on your big day so you and your guests can enjoy a tasty tipple on our gorgeous outdoor terrace. Our outdoor terrace is equipped with a bar and offers unrivalled views of the iconic River Ouse.

Christening Celebrations
