September Supper Club Roundup
The curtains have closed on yet another edition of our beloved Supper Club and we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the patrons that joined us for a very special evening last Wednesday (20th September)!
Oh, what a night it was! The atmosphere was electric and the company delightful as diners tucked in to five irresistible courses designed by none other than our very own Michelin-starred Chef Patron Andrew Pern.
As the dust settles on this memorable evening, let’s take a moment to relive some of the highlights and take a glance at some of the best snaps from the event!
Celebrating Yorkshire’s Finest Ingredients
The September Supper Club, true to its premise, once again proved to be a celebration of the very best that Yorkshire has to offer. Our Supper Clubs aren’t just any old culinary occasion; they serve as an ode to the rich tapestry of ingredients and flavours that “God’s Own Country” has gifted us. Our dining room buzzed with an infectious enthusiasm, as patrons came together to savour the essence of Yorkshire’s culinary identity.
Five Mouthwatering Courses
Each course that graced the September Supper Club menu was a resounding success, a testament to the craftsmanship of Chef Patron Andrew Pern and his dedication to showcasing the finest seasonal produce. The evening began with the Farndale Grouse “Game Tea,” a symphony of Artichoke & Truffle Ravioli, Savoy Cabbage, and Smoked Bacon. A delightful start that set the stage for what was to come.
The Ginger Parkin Cured Organic Salmon, with its Charred & Iced Muscade Pumpkin, Toasted Seeds, and Red Pepper “Romesco” Dressing, delighted seafood enthusiasts. Then came the pièce de résistance, the Brew York Big Apple Braised Suckling Pig Roast Loin. It was a masterpiece in itself, with Confit Belly, Slow Braised Shoulder, Celeriac Purée, Baked Roscoff, and Garden Sage. Each bite was a journey through the taste and smells of our idyllic county.
Dessert arrived in the form of the enchanting Mouneyrac Pear Tarte Tatin, complemented by Pedro Caramel, Liquorice & Forest Fruit Ice Cream, and Poached Brambles. Finally, the night concluded with a crescendo of flavours and exquisite textures in the form of Mrs Bells Blue Cheese, Date & Walnut Loaf, and Quince & Honey Mead “Jam.”
Perfect Pairings and Delightful Drinks
Many of our guests chose to elevate their dining experience with our superb matched wine package. Each wine was carefully selected to complement the courses, enhancing the overall dining experience. For those with diverse tastes, our extensive drinks menu, featuring premium champagnes, spirits, local ales, and speciality cocktails, also offered the perfect accompaniment to what was a magical evening.
