At The Star Inn The City our All Day Menu is regularly reimagined to reflect the change in seasons. From early autumn through to late winter our All Day Menu dishes consist of the best seasonal game, as well as vibrant vegetables which are hand-selected from trusted local farmers and growers.
Showcasing superb flavours synonymous with this time of year, starters include a divine Salt-Aged Yorkshire Beef ‘Tartare’, complete with Gherkin Relish, Smoked Bacon & Fried Bread Sprinkles, Parsnip Crisps and Mulled Wine Syrup.
Our mains include succulent Thyme Roasted Breasts of Rievaulx Shot Partridge served with a Little Game & Pickle Sausage Roll, Pease Pudding, Winter Vegetable Pressing and PX Juices whilst vegetarian options include our flavoursome Wild Mushroom & Tarragon Tagliatelle complete with Leeds Pecorino Shavings, Salted Hazelnuts, Aged Madeira & Black Winter Truffle.
For dessert lovers, be sure to try out are exquisite winter puddings including our incredible Date & Fig Sticky Toffee Pudding bathed in Butterscotch Sauce and complimented by Whitby Rum ‘n’ Raisin Ice Cream.

Sunday lunch is a highlight of the week for many, and we passionately believe in serving up delicious roasts that contain the freshest and finest locally sourced ingredients.
Influenced by the culinary wisdom of Chef Patron Andrew Pern, gather family and friends this winter and join us every Sunday afternoon for the best Sunday lunch in York.
All of our Sunday Lunch dishes are thoughtfully designed so every element on the plate has an integral role in showcasing the best quality produce. Choose from starters including home-cured Scottish organic Salmon or pressed Thirkleby duck.
Next, our skilled kitchen team will be ready to serve you a choice of scrumptious mains including sirloin of beef sourced from Wilberfoss Farm, accompanied by seasonal vegetables and ‘proper’ Yorkshire gravy. Seafood lovers can even tuck into a succulent loin of North Sea cod, served with Shetland mussels, charred hispi cabbage and crispy onions.

Seasonal Group Menu At The Star Inn The City
Still not planned your Christmas do, party, or get together with friends? Don’t worry there’s still time and we’ve got an incredible seasonal group menu for you to enjoy, guaranteed to help you and your loved ones celebrate the festive seasonal in style.
Available from now until February our sumptuous seasonal group menu includes three courses for £65pp as well as a glass of fizz on arrival.
Starters include a mouth-watering Mulled Wine Poached Pear ‘Salad’ whilst choices for your main meal include a delicate Pan Roasted Loin of North Sea Cod. Between 1st-24th December seasonal menu patrons can also opt for Traditional Butter-Roast Turkey with Pigs in Blankets, Garden Sage ‘n’ Onion Stuffing, Braised Potato Fondant, Honey-roast Root Vegetables, Redcurrant and Sage & Chestnut Gravy.
Evoking the finest flavours and smells of winter, desserts include a soul-warming Bramley Apple & Winter Berry Crumble with Harome Honey’d Oat Granola and Cinnamon Custard.
