Following on from the success of our late autumn edition, the Star Inn The City is delighted to announce that the Supper Club is back for the first time in 2023, and back with a twist!
This March, join us on a culinary journey from the traditional East to the modern West as you enjoy five irresistible courses dreamed up by our talented chef Jason.
Inspired by the essence of Eastern cuisine, but with a Yorkshire twist, expect dishes that are fresh and seasonal; robust and elegant; balanced and flavoursome- we guarantee you’re in for a real treat this spring!

Yunnan Meets Yorkshire: A Unique Culinary Experience Awaits
When designing the menu for our ‘Taste of the East’ Supper Club, Star Inn The City chef Jason wanted to pay homage to his Eastern heritage whilst at the same time showcasing the best seasonal ingredients sourced from God’s Own County.
With five-courses packed full of fresh local fish, succulent meat, delicate vegetables, and exotic spices, that goal has been accomplished.
Starting with the appetizer, Supper Club diners are invited to sample a delicious selection of Pardon Peppers, crunchy Prawn Crackers and a delicious Pea ‘Guac’.
Next, it’s our ‘star’ take on a Thai classic; enjoy Tom Yum Hot & Sour Soup with Escrick Pork & King Prawn Dumplings, Lemon Grass, Galangal and Kaffir Lime Leaves.
Continuing with the Eastern-inspired theme, sample North Sea Cod Fishcakes served with Yorkshire Wolds Chicken Satay, Peanut Sauce, Coriander, and a delicious ‘Atchara’ Style Veg which provides a refreshing accent.
If that wasn’t enough, our friendly servers will then bring you a piece of succulent Wester Ross Sesame Salmon accompanied by Filipino BBQ Sauce, ‘Lumpia’ Spring Rolls, and a sweet, sour and salty ‘Ensalada Mangga’.
Finally, chop sticks at the ready for a sensational spin on a Filipino favourite. Enjoy Ox Cheek “Adobo” Yorkshire Pak Choi accompanied by Soy Sauce, Shitake Mushrooms and ‘Sinangag’ Philippines Special Fried Rice.
Completing your feast, dessert lovers can indulge in a dreamy Coconut Rice Pudding served with Iced Mango, Lemon Balm, Red Chilli and a Tropical Sorbet.
Alongside these five sensational courses, our expert sommeliers have devised a special matched drinks package which will be available on the evening.
