Ahead of your graduation celebration you’ll be given the choice between ordering dishes exclusively from our popular All Day Menu or our Group Dining Menu.
If you opt for the All Day Menu you and your party will be able to choose from a variety of starters, mains, and desserts that are guaranteed to satisfy any palate. For starters, you might want to try our sumptuous Cured Sea Trout served with Fennel, Orange & Endive Salad, Keta Caviar, and a Garden Herb & Pink Peppercorn Dressing. For mains, our mouth-watering Yorkshire Lamb Loin is a popular choice as is our delightful Brew York Battered Codling served with Crushed Garden Peas, Salt & Vinegar Scraps and Chip Shop Curry Fish Velouté. For dessert, you can gorge on our incredible Black Forest Baked Alaska, accompanied by Bitter Chocolate Sponge, Kirsch Cherry Jam, Ripple Ice Cream and Toasted Meringue.
Similarly, graduation diners opting for our delectable Group Dining Menu are in for a treat. Group Menu starters include Oak Smoked North Sea Halibut served with Baked Garden Beetroots and a refreshing Blood Orange & Fennel Salad. Mains include a tender Chargrilled 10oz Dry-aged Yorkshire Reared Sirloin Steak, whilst pudding options include our showstopping ‘Rocky Road to the City’, served with Dark Chocolate Mousse, Torched Meringue and Salted Caramel.

Graduation Private Dining York
The Star Inn The City offers two main private dining options that are perfect for a graduation celebration: the River Room and the Private Dining room.
The River Room is a cosy space that can accommodate from 14 to 24 guests with exclusive use. With views overlooking the River Ouse, this room offers a unique and picturesque setting for your big day. The River Room also comprises elegant decor with classic wooden tables and and contemporary lighting, creating an atmosphere of sophistication and charm.
For larger graduation celebrations, the Private Dining Room is the perfect choice. With a capacity of up to 36 guests for exclusive use, the Private Dining Room is spacious and impressive. Adorned in warm, inviting tones, the room features beautiful chandeliers and stunning artwork, creating a stylish and modern atmosphere that’s perfect for your big day.
Outdoor Terrace
Completing our restaurant’s elegant indoor dining spaces, The Star Inn The City’s outdoor terrace offers a stunning setting for your graduation celebration. With views of the River Ouse and the historic city skyline, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere with your loved ones.
Our outdoor terrace is equipped with plenty of seating and outdoor heating so you can enjoy this picturesque setting whatever the weather.
