Dogs Welcome At The Star Inn The City York
The Star Inn The City York is proud to be a dog friendly restaurant and throughout the year well-behaved pooches are welcome to join us at our award-winning riverside brasserie in York.
As spring and summer time approach you and your canine companion can soak up the sunshine and admire stunning views of the River Ouse from our outdoor terrace, whilst four-legged friends are welcome in our bar area as you enjoy a delicious meal, sip your wine and sink a pint or two.
Although The Star Inn The City welcomes dogs, we recognise that not all our patrons are canine-loving people and to help protect our beautiful surroundings we just ask that you adhere to our do’s and don’ts for bringing your pooch.
Please take a minute to read over our simple doggy etiquette rules below…
Doggy Do’s & Don’ts
Although your furry friend is welcome in our bar area, and in our fantastic outdoor terrace, dogs (aside from assistance dogs) are not permitted in the carpeted area of the Garden Room and Private Dining Room.
The Star Inn The City is located in York’s historic Old Engine House which is a Grade II listed building. In order to protect the heritage and integrity of the building we politely request that your dog is prevented from climbing on any of the furniture or fixtures and is kept under close control at all times.
If you have enjoyed a walk with your dog prior to visiting, we kindly ask that you avoid bringing in any wet and muddy paws. We also respectfully ask that you clear up after your dog and dispose of any waste accordingly.
We regret that we do not permit breeds covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act and we expect owners to have the appropriate insurance in the event that their dog should cause injury to any person or property.
Finally, here at The Star Inn The City our unrivalled Yorkshire hospitality extends to man’s best friend too! Water will be provided on request as well as plenty of belly rubs!
